The twins Micki and Eduard grow up without knowing each other in Hamburg of the 1960s: one in poverty with his biological mother, the other in wealth with a wealthy couple. What connects them remains a well-kept secret.
As children, the two meet by chance while playing and form a blood brotherhood. They go through thick and thin together, even falling in love with the same girl – nothing and no one seems able to tear them apart. If only it weren't for the social inequality that shapes their paths and the fateful pact their mothers once made...
