Description
The "Suite en Concert" by André Jolivet, composed in 1965 for flute and four percussionists, is part of the magical dimension of his "Incantations" for solo flute, composed in 1937. It is among Jolivet's most famous works. For his "Tombeaux-Volière" (2013) for saxophone and percussion, the young Swiss composer Kevin Juillerat was inspired, like Olivier Messiaen, by bird songs. A work full of humor, virtuosity, and refinement. The Japanese marimbist Keiko Abe (*1937) is already a legend. "The Wave" (2000) for solo marimba and four percussionists is among her most successful compositions. In contrast, Bach's two-voice inventions and Ravel's "Tombeau de Couperin" will be performed in a version for flute/saxophone and marimba. The sound of the instruments offers a completely new auditory experience! Andrea Kollé, flute – Christian Kunz, saxophone – Hedi Yang, marimba. Percussion ensemble of the Zurich University of the Arts. Aperitif before the concert from 6:15 PM.
