On the occasion of her recording anniversary, Olivia Trummer presents a carefully curated selection of her best original compositions with a brand new, unusual ensemble.
Olivia Trummer is an early riser: she started playing piano at the age of three and composed before she could read notes. In 2006, she released her critically acclaimed debut album "Nach Norden" – the launchpad for a career of a constantly evolving artist, who is now considered one of the most interesting jazz musicians of her generation. Her discography now includes eleven albums, and she has performed at Carnegie Hall, Jazzfest London, Umbria Jazz Festival, Montreux Jazz Festival, Blue Note Tokyo, and has shared the stage with Kurt Rosenwinkel, Eric Clapton, and Bobby McFerrin.
The press celebrates her not only as a "highly virtuosic pianist" and excellent singer who "advances vocal jazz with daring scat colors into the realm of art song," but also as an impressive composer and songwriter. The British Jazzwise magazine praises her ability to "write strong, immediately memorable melodies," and the FAZ notes:

On the occasion of her album anniversary, Olivia Trummer now exclusively opens her own SONGBOOK and flips through it like a diary. Together with four exciting musicians from the European jazz scene, she brings her most original, catchy, intimate, and demanding compositions back to the stage. A carefully curated selection of her personal favorites, each carrying its own story.
For this special occasion, Olivia Trummer expands her first-class trio with two very unusual sound colors: Johannes Lauer on trombone and Ariel Bart on chromatic harmonica, two virtuosos of their craft, who shine with ingenuity and sensitivity, allowing the entire emotional range of Olivia's music to blossom in a new way. With Makar Novikov on double bass and Mathias Ruppnig on drums, the band also features two brilliant soloists who merge on stage into a dreamily grooving rhythm section. Together, the ensemble creates an exhilarating stream of jazz, soul, singer-songwriter, and blues. "Timeless music" that touches the soul and resonates long after.
