Description
Birnbacher talks about a son who has ADHD and a mother who fights against external labels. Oz is different, he struggles in school, but this time something really stupid happened to him. On the way home, he wishes for at least a small catastrophe to distract his mother from the letter from the teacher. When Oz comes home, something has indeed happened. The grandmother has disappeared. Birnbacher has found a tone that is both light and empathetic to write about the wild growth in thinking – and about the opportunities it brings. "Birgit Birnbacher still masters the oldest and noblest art: storytelling as a soul-saving measure." (Clemens J. Setz) A cooperation with the German Seminar and the Medical Humanities at the University of Basel Participants and additional information: BIRGIT BIRNBACHER (*1985 in Schwarzach) lives as a writer in Salzburg.
