Having been on the stages of the republic for 25 years and preparing his seventh stage program, Bernhard Hoëcker faces quite a few challenges. A mere statistic about past performances, audience numbers, kilometers traveled, etc., would be unworthy of him and just cold coffee. If he approaches the matter numerologically, he might stumble over the number seven as a lucky number or the seventh letter in the Hebrew alphabet. There, 7 is called Zajin, which means sword. Perhaps he is slowly getting closer to the matter, as Bernhard Hoëcker has been a pioneer of witty comedy since 2001.
He has now filtered all his previous programs – centrifuged them like a beekeeper making honey, carefully checked the material like a cave climber rappelling, and chosen the finest grit for the final sanding like a carpenter. He has worked out the essentials: the honey is pure, the rope is tip-top, the wooden piece is a tactile highlight – and thus presents the seventh stage program in a pristine and maximally authentic Hoëcker manner.
