Description
We live in a time where the packaging often seems more important than the content: Every simple chocolate bar is turned into an exclusive taste event through advertising, the janitor receives the exclusive title of Facility Manager instead of a salary increase, and love no longer jumps with Cupid's random arrow as before, but is tailored and algorithm-based via Tinder and Parship into our lives.
The German Heinz Günter suddenly dresses in a striped shirt and beret during his vacation in France and wonders why he is not seen as Jean Pierre despite carrying a baguette under both arms... Packaging is not everything.
Lucy van Kuhl also cleverly packages her insights in her fifth program:
Absurd reflections are wrapped in gentle piano sounds, tiny marginal observations are provided with a large poetic magnifying glass, and the gloom of a retirement home is suddenly transformed into an exhilarating over-80 party through a mantle of fantasy.
Delicate melancholy meets crashing nonsense, classical piano with Boogie Woogie, and if you think such things don't harmonize – Lucy's overflowing imagination is a bright, strong gift ribbon that effortlessly holds all this together and – very cleverly packaged.
