Being There – Da sein

Description

The film BEING THERE – DA SEIN is about four people who accompany the dying in different cultures. Confronted with their own mortality, they show us ways in which they are present for the dying in their final phase of life and continually re-engage with their own lives, reflecting on their relationship with death and dying. The protagonists (Ron Hoffman, USA, Elisabeth Würmli, Switzerland, Alcio Braz, Brazil, Sonam Dölma Sherpa, Nepal) raise the question of whether we need a new Ars Moriendi today, which – as was the case in the late Middle Ages – understands dying as part of life and thus brings the confrontation with death back into our lives as an enrichment.
