On October 11, 2026, Kali Malone and ALPONOM will host the anniversary evening with two musical sets that open different perspectives on sound, resonance, and space. Kali Malone is one of the influential voices of contemporary experimental music. The American composer and organist based in Stockholm and Paris develops complex soundscapes with great precision, where slowly changing harmonies and historical mood systems condense into an intense listening experience. Her works for organ, choir, chamber ensembles, and electroacoustic formations are performed worldwide in concert halls, churches, museums, and festivals. ALPONOM, the free alphorn group from the Basel region, has been exploring the sonic possibilities of the alphorn for over 25 years. Led by Balthasar Streiff, the collective moves between traditional repertoire, contemporary music, and experimental formats. This results in concerts that make familiar sound worlds audible anew and make the space itself part of the musical experience. For the anniversary weekend, there is another special: the new piece TRANSFORMATION for 10 alphorns and sea snails by Balthasar Streiff will be performed for the first time! An anniversary evening that brings together two artistic positions and makes Bern Minster a special resonance space.
