Beata Bocek The Czech-Polish singer-songwriter Beata Bocek is one of the prominent voices of the contemporary author scene at the intersection of folk, world music, and intimate songwriting. In her music, she combines personal expression with delicate poetry and a natural musicality that transcends linguistic and genre boundaries. Her work grows from a deep connection to emotions, memory, and inner experiences. In addition to Czech and Polish, she also sings in her own 'internal' language, which is created intuitively in the moment. This authenticity and ability to communicate directly, without the need for literal understanding, make her an exceptional performer even in an international context. On stage, she combines accordion, guitar, and ukulele, and using a looper, she creates a characteristic, layered sound. Her concerts are akin to a meditative experience — they are fragile, focused, and surprisingly dynamic. At Alterna, she will present, among other things, songs from her current album Bílo, which captures personal transformations, relationships, and returns to oneself. Bezobratři The group Bezobratři was formed in 2004 by three enthusiasts of folk wind instruments – Pavel Císarík, Marek Gonda, and Jan Glembek. The original goal of the trio was primarily to meet and share the joy of playing together, as the nature of these instruments did not lend itself well to communal music-making. Most of them were instruments of pastoral solitude. It was during this time that the name Bezobratři was created – the whistles, end-blown flutes, and fujaras were made from black elder. The first performances of Bezobratři focused on presenting and demonstrating various folk musical instruments, both solo and in different combinations. A significant transformation occurred when the members yearned for a richer and more vibrant sound. They gradually invited players of additional instruments into the ensemble, opening a new chapter in their musical direction.
