Description
Under the baton of Jakub Hrůša, the Bamberg Symphony will embark on a musical journey through Central European Romanticism and the expression of the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. The concert will open with the dramatic Jealousy – the original prelude to Janáček's Jenůfa, in which the composer's unique musical language is fully reflected for the first time. This will be followed by Dvořák's The Dove, a symphonic poem based on Erben's Bouquet, where the beauty of melody intertwines with a dark story of guilt and conscience. The evening will conclude with the monumental 'Romantic' Symphony No. 4 by Anton Bruckner – a work infused with mysticism, nobility, and lyrical images of medieval knights and forests.
