Between adventure journey, initiation course and waking dream
A boy wakes up in the middle of the night in an unknown world that is constantly forming and falling apart. Is he dreaming or is it real? On his journey through this magical world, a curious duo, who are at the same time clown, guardian angel and technician, mischievously places obstacles in his way. On their adventure, the three face challenges together, invent overpowering opponents, are clumsy, daring and cheeky – like the hot-headed mercenaries of the Ottoman Empire, the Bachibouzouk. Various shimmering plastic films transform into dreamy landscapes, animals or fantastic figures.

Visually striking, magical and with outstanding dance, Bachibouzouk tells of challenges that bond and of shared dreams that keep friendships alive.

General Information

The play Bachibouzouk takes place at BIOTOP in Biel and combines dance, theatre and visual effects. It tells the story of a boy who experiences adventures and passes tests in a magical world. The production was developed in collaboration with La Grenouille and is aimed at a young audience.
