krautrock, psychedelic rock • Nový Bor The band B4 was formed by accident in 1998 at a festival in Turnov when an improvised group was needed to replace a missing band. Since then, a unique project has developed around the core consisting of David Freudl, Tomáš Procházka, and Leoš Kropáček, moving between improvisation, psychedelia, krautrock, noise, jazz, and rock, with a particular focus on the sound of the former Eastern Bloc. B4 is probably the first Czech post-revolution band that consistently dedicates itself to krautrock. Studio recordings and live performances of B4 often differ significantly. In addition to original improvised krautrock performances, the band also works on electronic versions of songs by the Plastic People of the Universe and other ongoing projects. Their characteristic sound, long associated with historical analog organs, synthesizers, and tape echoes, is now complemented by contemporary instruments and technologies. In B4's music, alternative, noise, psychedelia, pop, electronics, and minimalism meet in surprising combinations. shoegaze, ambient • Liberec One of the most prominent contemporary projects in the Liberec scene. The music of Jan Janecký and Michal Staňek oscillates between ambient, 90s electronic sound, and guitar walls in the spirit of the shoegaze scene. The band's name is inspired by a painting by American artist Jackson Pollock. In October 2023, they released their debut LP titled EARTH IS MY HAPPINESS on vinyl.
