As part of the accompanying program for the exhibition “plomer plajer culer,” Sonja Kretz offers insight into her artistic research project in Val Müstair. The collaboration between Sonja Kretz and Biosfera Val Müstair combines artistic research with a scientific exploration of the Alpine region. Through joint fieldwork, on-site discussions, and feedback on emerging artistic works, a continuous dialogue is fostered. These works are on view at the St. Johann Monastery Museum as part of the exhibition “plomer plajer culer.” In this conversation, Sonja Kretz offers insights into the creation of these works, the translation of landscape into material, and the potential of art to make fragile interconnections tangible. Sonja Kretz is a Swiss artist and color designer. Her work combines a passion for art and architecture with experimental, research-based practice, opening up new perspectives on landscape and space. Through installations, art and architecture projects, and interdisciplinary research, she translates this fragility into material, form, and atmosphere to make the ambivalence of beauty and vulnerability tangible.
