ARTE Quartett, Saxophone | Raphael Immoos, Organ and Conductor A spatially immersive concert by the Basler Madrigalisten with the saxophonists of the ARTE Quartet: The starting point is Emilio de’ Cavalieri's Rappresentatione di Anima, et di Corpo (1600), one of the earliest musical dramatic works in Europe. In this extraordinary piece, soul and body engage in a dramatic dialogue. The music of Swiss composer Lukas Langlotz builds on this idea. The result is Unapparent, commissioned by the Basler Madrigalisten. Developed in collaboration with the ARTE Quartet, Zwischenräume opens additional acoustic perspectives in the space. Thus, Cavalieri's music and contemporary sound worlds engage in a fascinating dialogue. A poetic counterpoint is provided by texts from Fernando Pessoa and Rainer Maria Rilke's poem White Souls.
