Under the motto An die Musik – inspired by Schubert's setting of a poem by Franz von Schober – a unifying thread develops, bringing together works from classical, romantic, to 20th-century music. Besides compositions by Franz Schubert, Dmitri Shostakovich, and other masters, the focus is on the timeless message of music's connecting and comforting power, which is more important today than ever. The special feature: The students not only perform musically but also enrich the evening with spoken contributions. For each piece, they share their thoughts, give insights into their personal relationship with music, and share their experiences with the audience. This creates a lively dialogue between musical interpretation and personal reflection, bringing performers and audience closer together.
