When the alpine cattle drives take place, old traditions come alive in Switzerland. We dedicate a cozy and musical afternoon to these beautiful traditions here at Wendelin. We are pleased to welcome two costume groups: the Riehen-Bettingen costume group and the Egringen costume group. With their stunning traditional costumes, lively folk dances, and traditional folk music, they bring a piece of tradition to us.
The costume groups showcase various dances and also share interesting facts about their costumes and their special features. But it's not just about watching: our guests and residents are invited to join in the dances and swing their dance legs together.
Of course, singing together is also a must. During some well-known folk songs, the costume groups will sing together with our residents. This creates a joyful togetherness where music, movement, and memories come together.
Whether you enjoy dancing yourself, like folk music, have a fondness for beautiful costumes, or simply want to spend a cozy afternoon in good company – you are very welcome at our Älplerchilbi. Relatives, friends, neighbors, and all interested people from Riehen and the surrounding area are cordially invited. Come by, enjoy the music, let yourself be carried away by the dances, and celebrate with us. We look forward to a joyful afternoon full of music, dance, encounters, and good humor. Additional offerings at the Wendelin elderly and nursing home:
Public coffee break with fresh pastries (Mon–Sat, 9 am–12 pm & 2 pm–5 pm).
Lunch and dinner in a cozy atmosphere – registration by 9:00 am.
