Verdi's "Aida" is one of the classics of the opera repertoire and remains a magnet for audiences today. With gripping and musically compelling storytelling, Verdi narrates the tragic story of Aida and Radamès, of a land at war, of a woman torn between father, lover, and homeland. It is a highly emotional relationship drama where personal feelings and political calculations clash irreconcilably. Verdi's preferred means: monumental choirs, heartfelt arias, and passionate duets. Almost unnecessary to mention: Verdi's world-famous triumph march is a cult beyond the opera stages. The Theater Orchestra Biel Solothurn TOBS! already thrilled audiences in Friedrichshafen last season with its production of "The Magic Flute."
