The Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) took me through the inhospitable deserts of California, snow-capped mountain peaks, and deep forests of Oregon and Washington. You can expect bizarre to incredible stories from challenging days when nature was a wild force, as well as moments filled with beauty, freedom, and friendship that I experienced while trekking through the mountains. You will learn what happens to your gear when a helicopter rescues you, what it's like to hike 1,000 km through snowy mountains, what goes through your mind when a wild river sweeps you away, or how to “not run away” from a forest fire. In the lecture, you will hear my personal experiences and learn about the pitfalls that this journey brings.
