Addressing War?

We encounter accounts of war and violence almost every day—in the news, on social media, and sometimes even in personal stories. But what actually happens when we listen to them? How can we engage with experiences that are often difficult to put into words? And what changes when listening itself becomes the starting point? This workshop is inspired by the art and research project “There Is No Minimum Age for War,” which was developed in collaboration with people who had been recruited as minors by armed groups in Colombia. We will listen, share stories, and experiment with voice, sound, breath, rhythm, and silence, exploring how these elements transform our perception. The workshop also aims to discover new ways of engaging with testimonies of war and to collectively explore what attentive listening can make possible. The workshop is open to anyone interested; no prior knowledge is required. The workshop will be conducted in German and English. Schedule

The 'Addressing War?' workshop invites participants to engage with the difficult narratives of war and violence through listening and storytelling.
