Description

The five Absintos are among the top live acts of the folk and world music scene, well beyond their Rhein-Main homeland. At their concerts, they travel musically to Balkan metropolises, take a tour through the Mediterranean region, turn off just before the Ural - and mix their own with borrowed elements. While double bass, guitar, and mandolin ignite a fiery rhythm fireworks, saxophone and violin go on a melodic roller coaster. Additionally, hearty vocals celebrate songs from Sinti traditional to Tom Waits – and everything revolves around love and humanity, wit and longing, melancholy and intoxication.
