Description
With shimmering diversity and different formats, the extensive concert program is presented. The Zurich Opera Orchestra performs in a large ensemble in seven Philharmonic concerts, alternating between the Opera House and the Tonhalle. Internationally renowned soloists and guest conductors dedicate themselves to major works from Beethoven to Strauss, as well as fascinating discoveries from the concert repertoire. A special highlight is the Prokofjew cycle, created in collaboration with the Tonhalle Orchestra. Three concerts by Orchestra La Scintilla on historical instruments, as well as a series of festival and special concerts—including with the Children's Opera Orchestra—expand the versatile offering. In smaller and individual ensembles, the musicians of the Zurich Opera Orchestra can be heard in the popular chamber concerts, which take place on Sunday mornings and Monday evenings. The Opera Nova ensemble brings works from the late 20th and 21st centuries to the studio stage. The concert offerings are rounded off by song evenings, where some of the most beautiful and characteristic voices of our time can be heard.
