The clarinet tells stories in broad arcs, finds intimate colors, yet sets striking accents – lyrical but never sentimental, flexible, always tense. Edward Elgar's Enigma Variations for large orchestra conclude the evening as a multi-layered panorama: characters emerge, moods shift, dynamics intensify. Between fine irony and grand gesture, a pull is created that carries. A concert full of contour, breath, and sonic intensity.
