Every fall, tens of thousands of film fans and media and film professionals attend the Zurich Film Festival (ZFF) for eleven days to see one of the approximately 160 films. It aims to give a large audience an insight into the work of young, emerging filmmakers from all over the world and to promote exchange between established filmmakers, young talents and the public. ZFF is the most important autumn festival for cinema releases in the German-speaking world and an ideal networking platform. Awards and competitions: In three international competitions (Focus Switzerland/Germany/Austria, Feature Film and Documentary Film,) young filmmakers compete for the main prize, the Golden Eye. In the gala section, legendary directors and Hollywood stars present the most anticipated films of the year, which have a great chance of winning an Oscar. Furthermore, the festival presents film series on topics on the pulse of time such as "#Hashtag", "New World View" or "Border Lines". Locations: The hub of festival activity is Zurich's Sechseläutenplatz, located in the middle of the city and on the shores of Lake Zurich. Here you will find the festival cinemas Corso, Le Paris, Piccadilly and the festival center. The other festival cinemas Arena Cinemas Sihlcity, Filmpodium and Kosmos can be reached in a few minutes. For children: Laughing, discovering, empathizing, sinking into images, excitedly following along, thinking, understanding, getting excited. In the "ZFF for Children" series, outstanding children's and family films from all over the world are screened. And at most screenings, the audience has the opportunity to meet the filmmakers on location. Tickets for the ZFF Children's Series are available at the special price of CHF 10.00. Unless otherwise noted, all films are released for ages 4 and up. Adult accompaniment is generally recommended.
