Description
On October 15, 2026, visitors will be able to observe this rare work process from a spectator area on Schwägalp. In the days prior, the rope specialists will set up a approximately 60-meter-long splicing scaffold, which serves as a work platform for the demanding tasks. Due to the terrain on Schwägalp, this construction is necessary to connect the two ends of the cable in intricate manual work into a continuous rope. The rope splicing takes several hours and is an important milestone of the 'Säntis 2026' project. Please note that the splicing scaffold itself cannot be entered and the work can only be observed from the designated spectator area. For refreshment, the Schwägalp restaurant is open and offers food and drinks continuously.
