Description

«YES/NO» begins as a rousing celebration of relentless positivity – the dancers put their entire strength and every fiber of their bodies into embodying radical approval: enthusiastic, voluntary, and enduring, without ambivalence or doubt, virtuoso and spectacular. Then comes the No. Rules and boundaries, self-respect and self-care – all require the clarity of a (sometimes not so occasional) No. And then it gets more complicated: between the black-and-white clarity of Yes and No lies a gray sea of ambivalence that cannot be reduced to a simple decision. Dance itself lends itself to making this in-between visible and negotiating the subtle gradations. Suitable for teenagers as well. Duration approx. 60 minutes, no intermission.
