Description
In this workshop, your body will become a musical instrument. It should become relaxed and permeable, freed from everyday posture, so that the voice can find free expression in sound. In the morning, we will do voice, breathing, and body exercises. In the afternoon, we will focus on lament song improvisation, which we will create together in the group. No knowledge of notes or musical training is required. The lament song improvisation is about trusting your own voice and body. Lament songs or wails are passionate expressions of sorrow, grief, and pain, often taking the form of music, poetry, or songs. They encompass many different genres, depending on the theme, and include some of the oldest forms of poetry and writing in human history. With the increasing individualization of grief, the lament song moved out of the sacred realm and entered secular or pop culture.
