The German/Swiss duo Hart auf Hart from Leipzig presents a witty play with lots of subtle humor. The Leipzig actress Elisabeth Hart and the Olten actor Rhaban Straumann came together artistically just before the pandemic, developed and wrote a satirical piece for difficult and good times during the various lockdowns. "Do You Want to Swing?" is a playground satire without educational content or claims. The play is about an actress and an actor reading a self-written piece. In it, a woman and a man meet on a playground. Initially by chance, then repeatedly. She is German. He is Swiss. He delights in the suffering of parents, she enjoys manipulating the playground equipment. With appropriate distance and without moralizing, they approach major and relevant topics and are not afraid of delicate questions. Even superficial clichés gain depth in their conversation, while linguistic differences reveal cultural distinctions. She: "You say Pi times roughly." He: "We say Wrist times Pi." She: "Oh, how imprecise." With each day, the connection between the two people on the playground intensifies. He talks about his neighbor, the nice Nazi, she tells about her study of the Great in the Small. Together, they observe little dictators in the sand and have the greats of the world in mind. The boundaries between oversight, insight, and confidence disappear clearly, creating a challenging interplay between observers and observed.
