Winter hike: Celebrate New Year's Eve at over 2,000 meters above sea level!

On this two-day tour to the Spitzmeilen area (Flumserberg), we stay overnight in the Spitzmeilenhütte SAC and toast to the new year at midnight in an exclusive setting! Along the way, we are enchanted by the snow-covered sea of peaks and the fantastic panoramic view! We take the gondola up to the Maschgenkamm at 2020 m above sea level. From here, we start and hike on the prepared winter hiking trails through the idyllic snowy mountain world. Soon we leave the cable car facilities and the ski area behind us. With a magnificent panoramic view, we go through the alpine, gently rolling landscape. Depending on conditions, we can walk (winter hike) or put on our snowshoes in between (no prior knowledge required). We cross the extensive area of the glacier-shaped Furschner plateau and reach the foot of the distinctive Spitzmeilen peak, where the Spitzmeilenhütte sits on a scenic rock outcrop. Far from any civilization, it stands alone against the forces of nature. Here we settle in and then toast to a good new year at over 2000 meters above sea level at midnight!
We can expect a great mountain hut atmosphere with dinner, fire, sparkling wine, and fireworks included! The next morning, after sleeping in and enjoying a fine breakfast, we take the return journey on foot. In the fascinating morning mood, we walk over scenic plateaus and through the large valley basin. With some luck, we see ptarmigans or snow hares along the way. The sparkle of millions of snow crystals enchants us. The breathtaking mountain panorama – our view extends to the peaks of Graubünden, Liechtenstein, and Austria – accompanies us to the alpine pastures of Fursch and Panüöl, where an alpine tavern invites us to rest. Slightly ascending, we return to the mountain station of the BergJet, where we started yesterday. The tour is led by trained hiking guides who are familiar with the demands and dangers of the winter mountains and ensure safety at all times. Some fitness and willingness to forego hotel comfort are advantageous to fully enjoy this two-day winter hike. Pure hiking time depending on conditions approx. 2½ - 3 hours, ascent and descent 300 meters
