Sometimes, it is precisely the Advent that breaks out with beloved traditions and challenges new forms. Electric lights instead of wax candles, lively Advent calendars instead of Rorate Masses, and "In der Weihnachtsbäckerei" instead of "Macht hoch die Tür" - Advent and Christmas are changing with the societies in which they are celebrated. At Münzhof, we reflect on sharing, caring, and opposing, and on what truly matters. BR presenter Peter Veit has selected texts that encourage smiling, dreaming, and thinking further. They broaden the view of the many faces of Christmas, which look different at various times, in numerous places, with families, chosen relatives, or alone, always with the same message. Additionally, Peter Vogel on the piano offers new possibilities for old Christmas songs by making them the starting point for improvisations, jazz ballads, or sing-alongs. Peter Veit was born in Würzburg. In his childhood and youth, radio was an important connection to the outside world. After high school, he moved to a small radio station on Lake Constance – initially as an editor, then as a sound engineer after appropriate training, and later increasingly behind the microphone. In the late 1980s, he completed a voice training at Bayerischer Rundfunk. Since then, he has been regularly heard on BR programs as well as in television productions and audiobooks.
