Since its founding in 2011, the Verbier 3-D Foundation has focused on how art can interact with the natural environment and bring questions of sustainability to the forefront. On the occasion of its fifteenth anniversary, the exhibition "Where The Water Begins" takes place. This exhibition celebrates this commitment while also confronting the uncertain future that lies ahead. Developed in collaboration with Protect Our Winters (POW), it aims to highlight our shared responsibility for the mountains and their vital resources, which underpin every aspect of cultural, social, and economic life in Verbier. Artists from the fields of photography, sculpture, sound art, poetry, and environmental art translate data into emotions and science into stories. Philip Samartzis' soundscape enhances this experience, enveloping visitors in the hidden frequencies and shifting atmospheres of a landscape under pressure. Artistic creation here becomes an expression of agency, overcoming distance. Water is the common thread that runs through everything: the source of life, the measure of time, and in the alpine context, the most urgent indicator of a climate crisis.
