For the second time, Contrapunkt presents a double concert of two groups whose concepts could not be more different. Ako Amos soft sounds, whose laser-like light repeatedly shines through – and Sc’ööf’s prickly, almost tangible sound explosions complement each other in an exotic dance through the night. Ako Amo – What happens when piano and electronics meet sonically on equal footing – alternating lightly between accompaniment, solo moments, and fusion? The duo combines classical piano practice and electroacoustics with curiosity for the new and accessible. Early digital electronics, vivid piano sounds, piano processing, and sensitive sound design define the Ako Amo sound: dreamy, loving, peculiar. Compositional ambient for critical dreamers – music for contemplative dreamers who lose themselves in thought, even at the risk of bumping their heads. Sc’ööf – The Swiss band Sc’ööf has already conquered many parts of Europe with their music and performance – most recently awarded the prestigious Zenith Award of the European Jazz Network. On stage, Sc’ööf unleashes a playfully physical energy: idea chases idea, sound teases sound, as if they want to tickle each other. Atonal melodies get caught and nest in complex rhythms. Yet amidst this noise, moments of hypnotic calm suddenly emerge – points where their structures seem to pause to look around. Drums and laptop, electric guitar, two saxophones, and sound design come together to make space for a uniquely glitched sound sculpture. Sc’ööf sounds like everything and nothing comparable: uncompromising, intense, lively.
