Who is Responsible? Reproductive Justice in the Asylum System

Description

Reproductive rights refer to human rights that guarantee everyone the right to decide freely, autonomously, and without discrimination over their body, sexuality, and the question of whether, when, and how many children they want to have. The Swiss asylum system poses some hurdles to this right – whether through uncertain residence status, elaborate and numerous relocations to different accommodations, or simply through the lack of private and intimate space. Can reproductive justice be reconciled with today's asylum structures? What are the different perspectives on the issue and who bears responsibility? These and other questions will be discussed by: - Sophie Guinard, Political Secretary at Solidarité sans frontières (Sosf) - Céline Moser, health expert at the State Secretariat for Migration (SEM) and other participants. Moderation: Edith Krähenbühl, journalist at Hauptstadt - Neuer Berner Journalismus. The panel discussion takes place as a closing event within the framework of the exhibition Atlas der Reproduktion, organized by the mlab of the University of Bern, the Social and Cultural Geography research group, and the HKB Institute of Design Research. The event will be conducted in German and is free of charge.
