Weinritt Veltin - Alp Flix

Description

Along ancient packhorse routes - Veltliner wine to Alp Flix From October 9 to 17, 2026, Cotti Horse will revive a historic connection between Valtellina and Graubünden. With riding and packhorse horses, the route leads from Marmorera via Silvaplana, the Bernina, and the Valposchiavo to Tirano - and with Veltliner wine on the packhorses, northward again to Alp Flix. If mountain, weather, people, and horses permit, the packhorse procession is expected to arrive on Saturday, October 17, around 11 a.m. at the inn in Tga Lucas on Alp Flix. The arrival will be celebrated with an alpine and packhorse festival, which also marks the season's end for Cotti Horse. The pack barrels will be opened, and the Veltliner will be served at the festival. Part of the wine will be bottled by hand directly on Alp Flix, corked, and given the special packhorse wine label; guests can help with corking and labeling. Only a few hundred bottles of the "Säumerweins 2026" will be produced. They will be sold at the festival and afterwards on Alp Flix - as a wine that not only has a provenance but also a special journey behind it.
