Christmas String Music - with Organ & Accordion

Description

The Flawil Chamber Orchestra invites you to two festive Advent concerts in December 2026. Under the direction of Daniel Treyer, a atmospheric program will be performed that accompanies the listeners through the Advent season – with touching music, warm string sounds, and a special musical highlight: Paolo D’Angelo, who performs with the orchestra as an organist and accordionist. The combination of string orchestra, organ, and accordion gives the concert a special tonal character. Paolo D’Angelo brings two very different instruments and thus opens up diverse musical possibilities – from festive organ sounds to the warm, immediate colors of the accordion. The program leads through various musical epochs and combines works by Bach, Albinoni-Giazotto, Vivaldi, and Widor with the special atmosphere of the Advent season. Between the orchestral works, well-known Advent and Christmas songs are played, inviting the audience to sing along. Thus, the Flawil Chamber Orchestra continues a popular tradition of its Advent concerts. The focus is on the interplay between the Flawil Chamber Orchestra and Paolo D’Angelo. As an organist and accordionist, he becomes the musical pivot and shapes the program with two instruments that could hardly be more different. This change opens up appealing sound worlds and gives the project its special character. The carefully selected orchestral music creates the festive framework. The Advent songs bring the audience directly into the musical experience. This creates a concert that combines sophisticated music with closeness, familiarity, and communal experience.
