Here, each individual image pulses in the rhythm of urban life’s dynamism – a special gem that offers a distinctive aesthetic approach to the system of the city, contrasting the sober exemplarity of the world as presented by quantitative data (“cold data”). The artist and filmmaker Natalia Kozieł-Kalliomäki manually intervenes in her expanded cinema performance by projecting 16mm film with live animations: using two overhead projectors, paper silhouettes, and a variety of filters, overlays with color, textures, and fascinating patterns are created, forming a dense visual narrative.
