Description

Matthias Lincke & Andrea Kirchhofer (violin), Elias Menzi (Appenzeller hammered dulcimer) and Hiasl (double bass) surprise as the “Altfrentsche Besetzung” with bold connections of string music and improvisation. With Barbara Gisler (cello), the ensemble expands into the classical Appenzeller string quintet. The five free spirits drive the waltz crazy and give it striking topicality. A Swiss cultural heritage is reclaimed for the present. Raw, sensual, unpredictable, the waltz awakens to new life.
