**Music à la carte for Trio Janett and Grand Hotel**

The large hall of the Waldhaus Hotel in Sils Maria in the Engadin is for many not just a place, but a pronounced favorite place. And the musicians Domenic, Curdin, and Niculin Janett take it – together with the whole Grand Hotel – onto the stage of the Theater Chur, while at the same time Ils Fränzlis da Tschlin bring the spirit of the famous hotel to life on the screen.

Film on, curtain up! A charming concierge takes the audience to the reception, the kitchen, the bar, or the indoor pool of the Waldhaus Hotel. At and with these places, the Trio Janett tells and plays on stage, as well as the large formation of Fränzlis da Tschlin and Friends on the film screen – from the Waldhaus waltz at the reception to the rustic Scottish in the fumoir, over the Elvis evergreen in the bar to the Balkan brass hit in the hotel corridors.

And so that the audience feels just as comfortable as in the hotel, there is music à la carte, meaning the viewers may decide what is served musically and cinematically. Thus, every evening becomes a somewhat different short vacation in the Waldhaus. A magnificent feast for the ears.

**Old and new Fränzlis**

The “Ur-Fränzlis” were the Jenisch family Waser, who immigrated from Central Switzerland to the Engadin in the first half of the 19th century and played dance music throughout the Engadin in the second half of the 19th century. The most famous scion of the Wasers was Franz-Josef from Chaflur near Strada: small in stature, he was called “Fränzli” everywhere.

100 years later, in the 1980s, the “old” Fränzli style was to be revived: Men Steiner and Domenic Janett formed a band that was to play Engadin music of the late 19th century in the “Ur-Fränzli” lineup. Noldi Alder from Appenzell, Flurin Caviezel from Chur and Ramosch, and the Tschlin brothers Curdin, Domenic, and Duri Janett recorded some pieces. What was intended as a one-time gathering for a record recording developed into a self-runner that led to a concert career that none of the “new Fränzlis” could have dreamed of.
