You are cordially invited to the second part of the four-part lecture series ‹From London› with a lecture by Hugh Strange (Hugh Strange architects, London). ‹From London› is an event series as part of the exhibition that explores what it means today to work in and with a city like London. The series includes public lectures and film screenings and features contemporary artists for whom the British capital is not only a place of activity but also a source of inspiration – a special context that gives their work a distinctive touch. The participants come from different generations and work in various fields, but all share a common sensibility shaped by the diversity of the city: a play with diversity within certain frameworks. Hugh Strange (*1969) founded his London-based architecture firm Hugh Strange Architects in 2011. In 2015, the archive building realized by the firm for Drawing Matter was nominated for the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture – Mies van der Rohe Award. In 2025, the Hastings House was shortlisted for the Stirling Prize, the highest architectural award in the United Kingdom.
Hugh Strange studied at the University of Edinburgh and recently completed his PhD at AHO, the Oslo School of Architecture and Design, titled Architecture at the Building Site. He is currently an Associate Professor at the London School of Architecture. Language: English
