Description
People have been visiting the canton of Schwyz for a long time. For a long time, the pilgrimage centered around Einsiedeln was dominant. From the second half of the 18th century, more and more travelers discovered the scenic beauties, especially Rigi, which became a tourist hotspot. This tourism reached its peak during the Belle Époque. After the Second World War, day tourism developed. Well-known travel destinations were joined by new ones such as the Goldau Zoo and Stoos with the Gratwanderweg. The number of participants is limited – online reservations take precedence.
