From Image to Sound – A Musical Journey with Mussorgsky

Description

In the arrangement for woodwind quintet by Joachim Linckelmann, the individual musical images become a colorful journey through an imaginary exhibition. Characterful melodies, different sound colors, and surprising musical scenes bring impressive, imaginative, and sometimes quirky images to life. Thus, a musical exhibition is created, in which each work tells its own story and the boundaries between image and sound blur. Lorena Bulgheroni – Flute
Rebecca Klee – Clarinet
Flavia Mayer – Oboe
Lilith Balbier – Horn
Daria Fedorova – Bassoon Admission is free. Donations are welcome. As part of the special exhibition "A Journey from Dream to Reality," created in collaboration with Terre des Hommes, we are pleased to welcome the woodwind quintet "Cantus Ventorum." Cantus Ventorum was formed in 2024 from a shared passion for chamber music. The five musicians met during their studies at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK). What started with a shared study developed into a musical collaboration driven by friendship, mutual trust, and above all, joy in making music together. "Cantus Ventorum" describes the "song of the winds" in Latin. Each of the five instruments – flute, oboe, clarinet, horn, and bassoon – brings its own timbre and personality. From five individual voices, a multifaceted overall sound emerges, connecting the diversity of our instruments.
