VOLTA Chamber Music Festival 2026 – LITANY From October 23–25, 2026, the VOLTA Chamber Music Festival returns to the Voltahalle in Basel for its third edition. This year’s theme, “Litany,” explores repetition, ritual, invocation, and ecstasy through chamber music. Guest artists include cellist Nicolas Altstaedt, soprano Anna-Lena Elbert, and percussionist Augustin Lipp. Spanning four concerts, the festival features works by composers such as Beethoven, Vivaldi, Crumb, John Adams, Messiaen, Dutilleux, and Fauré, alongside contemporary and experimental pieces. Based in Basel’s St. Johann neighborhood, VOLTA Kammermusikfest creates intimate concert experiences that bring musicians and audiences into close proximity, combining familiar repertoire with new and unexpected works.
