The Alemanni, after whom the entire Federal Republic of Allemagne or Alemania is called abroad – an often underestimated, overlooked people on the southwestern edge of Germany. Volkmar Staub examines his corner of origin, South Baden, like a magnifying glass or under a microscope as an example of German sentiment in the first quarter of the 21st century. What does the Badenian do in the world and what does the world do to the Badenian? Alemannic or global man? - that is the question here. An evening of cabaret about identity, belonging obsession, and search for meaning. At the same time, an absurd parcourse through Baden history, from the original Alemanni in the Havel swamps to the cuckoo clock Alemanni of a mountain village in Venezuela, from the revolutionary carnival procession of 1848 to the march on Moscow under Napoleon, told with speed, cunning, and shamelessly credible fairy tales. The Baden Alemannic Staub always fights for the cause itself, without knowing what the cause is about. State-separated and scattered across several countries, the Alemanni are the "Basques" of the republic. Without their own identity, always full of self-doubt and megalomania, love of freedom, and provincial chauvinism, they wander through world history without their own nation, without their own state. Always too kind, libidinous, and liberal. History never shaped them, only suffered them. Too cozy, too sluggish, too relaxed, and everything tolerated. No – Baden was never the Siegerland! Volkmar Staub deliriously in his cabaret program AUSBADEN on the occasion of the 75th year of Baden-Württemberg as well as himself, as a Badenian grumbler through "The Länd" and ponders about the course of the world and where he stands. And he explores the three most important philosophical questions that concern an Alemannic: Where do we come from? Where are we going? And above all: What do we drink with it? A delicious political-satirical delirium - intoxicated by bliss!
