We are writing the year 2030. The world has seen better days. Climate change is causing chaos: even in Switzerland, the thermometer regularly rises above 36 degrees Celsius – unless it rains for days on end. Politically, Europe is in turmoil, crises and conflicts are on the agenda. In short: the world has gone off the rails. But in the midst of this turmoil, something unexpected happens. A small theater in a small, wealthy country is quickly occupied. Five women of different ages decide that they cannot simply watch the impending apocalypse passively. Hulda, Zita, Isabelle, Debbie, and Sherilyn have a plan – and it’s a bold one. They call for a strike and urge women and FLINTA* to leave everything behind for a while: work, household chores, care work, and yes, even refuse to have sex in bed. Of course, this idea is not met with enthusiasm everywhere. And so, our story unfolds. And then there’s Kilian – a self-proclaimed women whisperer. What exactly is his mission in this illustrious group? And will he even have a chance with the ladies? The five wonderfully independent heroines take the audience on a musical and humorous journey through many decades of the fight for equality. "Vive les Femmes!" is a cheerful, tongue-in-cheek, and heartwarming piece of contemporary history – with music, wit, and a big dose of hope.
