Description

With shimmering diversity and different formats, the extensive concert program is presented. The Zurich Opera Orchestra performs in a large ensemble in seven Philharmonic concerts, alternating between the Opera House and the Tonhalle. Internationally renowned soloists and guest conductors dedicate themselves to great works from Beethoven to Strauss as well as fascinating discoveries from the concert repertoire. A special emphasis is placed on the Prokofjew cycle, which is created in collaboration with the Tonhalle Orchestra. Three concerts by the Orchestra La Scintilla on historical instruments and a series of festival and special concerts – including with the children's opera orchestra – expand the versatile offering. In smaller and individual ensembles, the musicians of the Zurich Opera Orchestra can be heard in the popular chamber concerts, which take place on Sunday mornings and Monday evenings. The Opera Nova ensemble brings works of the late 20th and 21st centuries to the studio stage. The concert offering is rounded off by song evenings, in which some of the most beautiful and characteristic voices of our time can be heard.
