Description

An instrument through the ages: The cello is at the center of this evening – sung, concerted, triumphant – an instrument that is both voice and foundation. Anastasia Kobekina, an internationally sought-after soloist, takes the stage, combining the cello with technical brilliance and narrative power. Together with the Munich Chamber Orchestra, she spans the arc from early Baroque to the present. In Claudio Monteverdi, the famous "Lamento d'Arianna" sounds like a lamenting voice from another time. Antonio Vivaldi brings the cello to the forefront in the concerto – virtuosic, agile, full of ingenuity. With "Cellos, vibrate!" Giovanni Sollima almost challenges the instrument: rhythmic, physical, energetic. Classical music responds with clarity and form: Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach surprises with sensitive symphonics, Joseph Haydn combines elegance with esprit in the C major concerto.
