Description
The collective dance me to the end invites you to a three-day conference on dance and aging. What stories do we tell about aging in dance? What aesthetics can older dance bodies produce? How can dance break common age images? And what visions can it inspire for an aging society? A versatile program of lectures, practical workshops, discussion formats, and performances creates space for exchange. Together, we explore questions of loss and gain in aging and seek new possibilities. The conference is aimed at dancers and dance enthusiasts of all ages, as well as anyone interested in discovering new perspectives on vitality "to the end". Program
Friday, October 23, 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM
A performance opens the conference. Saturday, October 24, 9:30 AM – 6:30 PM
Lectures, a practical participatory workshop, and discussion rounds are at the center, along with a performative reading. One of the discussion rounds is a "Fishbowl" discussion: A small circle of people discusses in the middle of the room while the audience listens and can join at any time. Sunday, October 25, 9:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Another workshop and a "World Café" follow: Participants move in small groups from table to table and discuss various questions. The program is complemented by a systemic-performative experiment that opens new perspectives on the topic.
