Description

Have we become lonelier – or have we just forgotten how connection is created? You can have many contacts and still be lonely. You can live in the middle of the city, have appointments, function, be reachable online – and still not feel truly connected inside. That is what makes loneliness so hard to grasp: it does not only show where someone is obviously alone. It can also remain hidden in everyday life. Loneliness is not a marginal phenomenon. It affects young people, the elderly, newcomers, parents, working professionals, and people in the middle of life. Especially before Christmas, it becomes visible what is often covered up: networking is not the same as connection. The evening asks who is affected by loneliness, why so many are ashamed of it, and why encounters do not happen by chance. What role do neighborhoods, self-help groups, youth projects, and small daily rituals play? What is needed so that people not only see each other but also truly feel understood? And what really helps against the feeling of not belonging? The focus is not only on open forms of loneliness but also on hidden ones – and on how it can be practically addressed: through places, language, repetition, courage, and low-threshold spaces where resonance and community can become possible again.
