Vera Kappeler Solo

Description

Vera Kappeler was born in 1974 in Basel and grew up in a playroom filled with a radio, cassette recorder, piano, and many small instruments. In the youth orchestra, she played the xylophone and discovered her love for folk music and songs from around the world. She was also a child of the 80s, loving the aesthetics and pop music of that time, which she played back on the piano. Later, she discovered the great 'classical piano literature' and jazz – now she combines her interest in chansons, simple dance and table music, and old music boxes with her penchant for sound experiments and quirky arrangements. This results in a wild mix of old wordless songs, blues, and experimental pulsations, inspired by steamship engines and other analog sound sources. Source: BeJazz License: CC BY-SA 4.0
