With the Überland Duo, Max Lässer and Markus Flückiger combine Swiss folk music with modern influences and contemporary sound. After 20 years of Überland Orchestra, the exceptional guitarist and the Schwyzerörgeli master are performing together as a duo for the first time – with treasures from two decades and new tones. In 2001, Swiss exceptional guitarist Max Lässer connected where he left off in the late 70s with the albums "Alte Schweizer Tänze" by engaging with Swiss folk music. The encounter with Schwyzer-Örgeli player Markus Flückiger at EXPO.02, where the Überland Orchestra was formed for the first time, led to the 2007 CD "Überland Duo+". Over the past 25 years, Max Lässer and Markus Flückiger have composed music that blends tradition with the musicians' individual playing styles and the diverse harmonic and rhythmic influences of the last sixty years of popular music. Traditional Swiss dances from various regions of Switzerland, collected by Hanny Christen and dating back up to 100 years, are also newly arranged.
