Tscherwona Ruta & Molodist

Description

The singing group “Tscherwona Ruta” (translated as 'wine route') was founded 25 years ago. Its goal is to promote Ukrainian songs and support children and youth in their musical development. New voices are discovered here and a love for music is awakened. With their performances, “Tscherwona Ruta” brings joy, warmth, and unforgettable impressions to the audience. The folk dance ensemble “Molodist” (translated as 'youth') was founded in 1964 to preserve and pass on Ukrainian folk dance. The ensemble impresses with its dances and colorful costumes and today has a repertoire of 30 dances. “Molodist” teaches children a love for folk culture, discipline, and team spirit. Both ensembles are an important part of the cultural life of their hometown Scheptyzkyj. They have already given numerous joint concerts and proudly present their city as well as Ukrainian art abroad. The proceeds from admission and donations are used to finance the event including costs for travel, accommodation, and meals. Any surplus supports youth group projects in Ukraine. The event is generously supported by the room sponsorship of the Reformed Church Schlieren.

General Information

The benefit concert takes place at Stürmeierhuus in Schlieren and brings together the singing group Tscherwona Ruta and the folk dance ensemble Molodist. Both groups are committed to promoting Ukrainian culture and supporting children and youth.
